Course Objectives
  • Provide teachers with an understanding of the causes and consequences of early school leaving, and the importance of prevention.
  • Equip teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to identify students at risk of leaving school early, and to intervene early to support them.
  • Enable teachers to create a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
  • Teach teachers how to work collaboratively with families, other teachers, and community organizations to prevent early school leaving.
  • provide teachers with strategies for promoting career development and relevance of education to motivate students to stay in school.
  • Teach teachers how to use positive reinforcement strategies to recognize and reinforce positive student behaviors and achievements.
  • Help teachers become more culturally responsive and aware of the diverse backgrounds and needs of their students, and to use teaching strategies that acknowledge and value students’ cultural identities.

DAY 1

  • Definition of Early School leaving and Its Impact on students and society.
  • Overview of factors that contribute to early school leaving, such as academic, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Importance of early school leaving prevention for students and society.

DAY 2

  • Understanding the warning signs and risk factors for early school leaving.
  • Strategies for identifying students at risk of early school leaving, such as academic assessments and student behavior observation.
  • Best practices for monitoring and tracking student progress and engagement.

DAY 3

  • Strategies for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Best practices for classroom management and student behavior support.
  • Introduction to Restore Active Practices and Conflict Resolution Strategies.

DAY 4

  • Overview of differentiated instruction and personalized learning strategies.
  • Best practices for adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Introduction to assistive technologies and resources for students with special needs.

DAY 5

  • Understanding the factors that contribute to student engagement and motivation.
  • Strategies for increasing student engagement and motivation, such as project-based learning and gamification.
  • Best practices for building positive relationships with students and families.
  • Strategies for supporting students during key transition points, such as from elementary to middle school or from high school to college or career.
  • Feedback and evaluation course.

Price

All expenses can be covered through a Knowledge Acquisition (KA) subsidy within the Erasmus+ initiative. This is a 5-day training course in which Mobility Friends imposes a fee of 350€ per attendee, in courses located in the cities of the continent and  Madeira island. The fee for Azores island is 480€ per attendee.

The price includes the training course and a coffee break.

Certificate

A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who attend a minimum of 80% of the course.


Schedule

The timing of classes, whether in the morning or afternoon, is determined by the provider. The schedule may vary considerably based on participants’ preferences and the trainer’s discretion regarding any modifications.

For certain courses, it may be necessary for you to bring your own laptop. Our team will inform you in case of need.
