Course Overview

The Basic Spanish (A1) course offers a structured and practical introduction to the Spanish language. Designed for beginners, it focuses on building essential communication skills for everyday life. Learners will develop their ability to understand and produce simple spoken and written Spanish, using familiar expressions and vocabulary.
This course follows the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring a solid foundation for progressing in the language, with emphasis on clarity, correct usage, and real-life communicative tasks.

Course Objectives

The general objective of this course is to provide learners with a foundational understanding of Spanish to communicate in simple, everyday situations. Learners will be able to:

  • Understand and use common expressions and basic sentences;
  • Introduce themselves and ask basic questions about personal details;
  • Participate in simple conversations when the interlocutor speaks slowly;
  • Read and interpret short, simple texts;
  • Write brief messages and fill in forms with personal information.

Module 1 – Greetings and Personal Information

  • Formal and informal greetings
  • Introducing oneself and others
  • Asking for and giving basic personal information
  • Personal pronouns and verbs: ser, llamarse
  • Countries, nationalities, and languages

Module 2 – Daily Routine and Activities

  • Regular verbs in the present tense
  • Common daily actions
  • Days of the week, times of day, telling time
  • Frequency adverbs and time expressions

Module 3 – Family and Relationships

  • Family and relationship vocabulary
  • Verbs: tener, vivir, gustar
  • Physical and personality descriptions
  • Possessive adjectives and basic sentence structures

Module 4 – Food and Shopping

  • Food and drink vocabulary
  • Ordering at cafés, restaurants, and buying groceries
  • Verbs: comer, beber, querer, comprar
  • Prices, quantities, units of measurement

Module 5 – Getting Around the City

  • Public places and services
  • Asking for and giving directions
  • Means of transport
  • Verbs: ir, estar, hay
  • Prepositions of location

Module 6 – Health and Everyday Situations

  • Health-related vocabulary and symptoms
  • At the pharmacy or doctor’s office
  • Calling emergency services
  • Key expressions for handling simple problems

Module 7 – Discovering Spain: Culture and Everyday Life

  • Overview of Spain (regions, cities, people)
  • Cultural habits: meals, schedules, social interaction
  • Traditions and festivals
  • Spanish cuisine: tapas, mealtimes, markets
  • Interacting with locals: etiquette and expectations

Price

Each quotation is personalized and depends on several factors, such as the number of participants, the number of training hours, the location of the course, and any additional services requested.
The training can be funded through programs such as Erasmus+ (KA1 – Learning Mobility), among other European support mechanisms. For more information about funding, participants should contact their sending organization or their country’s National Agency directly.

Certificate

A Certificate of Participation is awarded to participants who attend at least 80% of the sessions and demonstrate consistent engagement and commitment throughout the training.


Schedule

The time of classes, whether in the morning or afternoon is determined by the provider. The schedule may vary considerably based on participants’ preferences and the trainer’s discretion regarding any modifications.
